Welcome and thank you for visiting our site!
We are Matt and Traci, a married Christian couple from Long Island, New York. We don't have any children but are hoping to adopt. While we may not know the complexity of your situation or the emotions that come with it, we’d like to think that we share the same hope - a safe, loving home for your baby.
We have no ethnic, nationality, or gender preferences. We are homestudy approved and certified to adopt by New York State. We are completely open to all forms of post adoption contact, including phone calls, video chats, letters/pictures, and visits.
We invite you to take some time to get to know us through our stories and pictures on this site. Please feel free to reach out to us at anytime if you have any specific questions or if you'd like to connect with us further. We hope to hear from you soon!

Our Story
Although we grew up about five minutes away from each other, we didn’t meet until we were both in college. Exactly how we met depends on who you ask. I met Matt in the fall of 2009 through a mutual friend and we got on well right away. I quickly came to learn that Matt actually knew me as the “Wendy’s drive-thru girl” - turns out he was a regular at my high school job but was too shy to introduce himself. Now when we are asked how we met, we like to joke that “Matt used to eat a lot of Wendy’s.” We dated for a few years then got engaged on Easter Day 2013, married summer of 2014.
This year will be our ten year wedding anniversary! Throughout our years together, we’ve learned and grown both as individuals and as a couple. We’ve seen what it means to be in a committed relationship - the importance of communication, patience, empathy and forgiveness. We believe these are all values that will better equip us to work through the challenges that come with raising a child and we hope to impart these values in them.
Waiting in line in NYC with Matt’s podcast friends to see a live movie trivia show, so much fun!
Matt is a gentle person with an easy-going personality and a head full of trivia! One of our favorite pastimes is to ask each other ( or mostly me asking him) trivia questions about his two passions – sports and movies. Matt grew up watching and playing sports and I know he is looking forward to sharing this passion with our child. He can’t wait to teach them any sport or activity you can imagine in our spacious back yard and cheer them on should they choose to play on a team in school.
He also loves movies across the spectrum of genres and will watch his favorites over and over, so he is well prepared to watch the next big Disney/ Pixar hit on repeat (Looking at you Frozen!). Matt runs a movie themed podcast with a couple friends where they debate their favorites and come up with the (non-official) top five each session. He is excited to share his love and knowledge of movies with our child. We both look forward to watching all of his favorites together through the years and spending many happy hours discussing theories, alternative casting and, of course, a fresh top 5!
Matt works full-time as a freight broker for a Long Island based shipping company. He is part of a small, tight-knit team with genuine friendship and concern for one another outside of the workplace. Matt has a set schedule without long hours or travel, which allows him to focus on his family and well being.
AboutMatt
Matt sharing some swing tips with our nephew Parker
Me with my younger sister and best friend Jessica. We spent the day together at East Wind Shoppes celebrating my birthday.
Traci is a warm and kind person. She has a lot of empathy for people who are hurting or in need and is quick to help however she can. She also has a quick sense of humor and enjoys making her friends and family laugh. She loves nature and likes to spend time walking through parks, villages, or our quiet neighborhood. She is a huge dog lover and takes joy spending time with our dogs, Penny, Pie and Pearl. She will usually bring one of them along with her for walks when she can.
Traci is very intelligent and enjoys learning new things. Most recently she has been learning Spanish on Duolingo with the goal of becoming fluent. She has always loved reading, especially fiction. Harry Potter is one of her favorite series, one that she’s read through numerous times. She has been holding off rereading though as she wants to save it to read and enjoy together with our child.
Traci works as an Accounts Payable Supervisor at a prominent state hospital. As a state employee she receives excellent benefits including a pension and lifetime state medical insurance. Her position also has regular working hours with no overtime and more holidays off than average. She is well positioned to provide stability and a balanced home and work life for our family.
About Traci
Here I am at a Waterdrinker Family Farm, one of my favorite spots to enjoy being outside and taking in nature.
Our nephew Parker, this piece took us a while!
My dad, sister, and nephew at our most recent game night
Our family relationships are very important to us. All of Traci’s immediate family live on the island so we are able to see them quite often. Traci’s mom is always coordinating family game night, usually once a month and alternating houses. Traci has a close relationship with her family, especially her sister who lives nearby with her husband and kids. We love having our nephews over to play sports in our backyard, go to the local park or playground, or stay indoors building Lego sets. Our nephews are always asking when is the next sleepover or hangout. They are also asking when we will have a kid for them to play with!
While Matt's immediate family lives in Virginia, they still maintain a close relationship through daily phone calls and visits whenever possible. Before moving out of state, we would go out to eat with his parents nearly every weekend. In the summer we'd be over for a BBQ or to play lawn games. Now our niece and nephew love having video calls to say hi to Uncle Matt and tell us excitedly about what fun activity they did that day. Matt's parents have been very supportive of our dream to adopt and are very excited to welcome another grandchild.
We both happen to have extended family with adoption experience. Our brother in law, Ken, was adopted at birth as well as Traci’s youngest cousin, Aurora. Ken and Aurora’s parents have both been so supportive and willing to share their experiences with us. We are so grateful that a child placed with us will have other family members they can turn to who will be able to relate to their adoption experiences and provide guidance and support as they grow.
Our Families
Matt and his dad have a very tight bond. He is always so happy when we are able to go down for a visit. These pictures are from a trip a few years back - we went to a state park and brought along a photographer friend to help us make the visit memorable.
